Welcome to Forth Worth (Texas)
We will arrive in the afternoon where the west starts – Fort Worth, where you will experience the unique western culture. Dine at an authentic, world famous Texas barbecue and have a Texas-sized beer in Cowboy Town. After dinner, we will visit the world-famous cowboy town of Fort Worth. There are longhorn cattle trading markets, traditional longhorn bullpens and cowboy stables.
Afterward, enjoy the world’s most prestigious championship rodeo show, watch the heroic cowboys dancing on the back of the cattle, and hear the cheering audience at the venue. Cowboy shows are definitely one of the best ways to learn about Texas. Today you can become a passionate Texan and cheer together for the wild and unruly cowboys.

Fort Worth – Palo Duro Canyon Park – Amarillo (Texas)
In the morning, we will depart from Fort Worth to Palo Duro Canyon State Park (about 5.5 hours). This is the second largest canyon in the United States, once called the Texas Grand Canyon. Its name comes from Spanish word for hardwood. The canyon landforms and red land are unique, and the colors are very distinctive. In the spring, you can see the sunflowers in the mountains and you can camp and have a pleasant horseback ride. You can also take a Jeep tour (about 1 hour, ticket not included. Ticket price: $52/person).
After the tour, you will head to Amarillo and enjoy a Texas specialty steak meal.

Amarillo – Route 66-Socorro – San Antonio (New Mexico)
Today we will take the famous US Route 66 to Albuquerque (about 4 hours). US Route 66, called by Americans the “Mother Road,” is a diagonal Route with a total length of 2,448 miles (approximately 3939 kilometers). It traverses all the way from Chicago to Santa Monica, California, spanning 8 states and 3 time zones, cascading and shortening the distance from the West Coast.
Driving on the historic Route 66, you can see cornfields, Indian reservations, and endless deserts. There is sporadic spread of cactuses throughout the vast loess in classic western cowboy style; many filmmakers chose to film along the route 66 when shooting western movies. A trip to Highway 66 is like travelling through a portal to the era of cowboys in the West. The towns by the side of the road, the buzzing pubs, the neon-lit motels, and old gas stations stage the legendary stories of the West in front of you.
Then we come to the Very Large Array (VLA) in Socorro, the world’s largest integrated aperture radio telescope. Belonging to the United States National Radio Astronomy Observatory and located on the San Agustin Plain in New Mexico at an altitude of 2124 metres, it is a radio telescope array consisting of 27 parabolic antennas with a diameter of 25 meters, arranged in a Y-shape, with 2.1 kilometer long arms.
After visiting the VLA we will proceed to San Antonio, New Mexico.

San Antonio – Bosque Del Apache National Wildlife Area (New Mexico)
The Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge was established in 1939 and provides an important stopover for migratory waterfowl. The area is famous for the thousands of cranes, geese and ducks that spend the winter each year. This dry desert habitat is home of rabbits, quails and lizards, as well as sunflowers and mesquite shrubs.
We will return to San Antonio in the evening.

San Antonio – White Sands National Park – Las Cruces – El Paso (Texas)
We will set off for White Sands National Park, where huge wavy gypsum dunes cover about 300 square miles of desert. The desert is constantly advancing, and the sand covers everything on its way. The roads here are well built for visitors from all directions to visit and browse, and after going deep into the hinterland of the desert, the road was directly pressed on the sand with a road roller.
For lunch we will come to Las Cruces, a famous town in New Mexico, and taste special Mexican food! In the center of the town, we will view the unique local churches, various art shops and special restaurants. In the evening, we will go to El Paso, the largest city in the west of Texas. It is also a very famous US-Mexico border city.

Carlsbad Caverns National Park Day Trip – El Paso (New Mexico)
Today we will arrive at the most important stop in New Mexico – Carlsbad Caverns National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site that was first established in 1930.
Covering an area of about 190 square kilometers, its unique caves constitute a colorful underground world. Three of the most fascinating attractions are open to visitors, called the King’s Palace, Queen’s Chamber and Green Lake Room.The cave is also divided into three layers. Within the cave you can see cave pearls, formed by small sand particles coated with a layer of calcium carbonate dissolved in running water.
After visiting Carlsbad Caverns National Park, we will return to El Paso.
